A camp's website tells you everything about their organizational respect for parents. We penalize camps that hide pricing behind sales forms and praise camps with clear dates, sample daily schedules, and easy registration portals.

Does the mobile site work smoothly for busy moms?

2. Aquatics & Water Safety (The #1 Priority)

In our coastal and lakeside community, swimming is not just an activity—it is a life skill. We inspect whether camps provide true progressive Red Cross instruction or just recreational splash time.

Are pools heated? (Crucial for 3- to 6-year-olds)
Are WSI-certified instructors in the water?
How frequently are parents updated on swim levels?

Our Story

Two Moms, Twelve Summers, Zero BS.

When we first started looking for day camps four years ago, we were baffled by how difficult it was to get straight answers. Why was tuition hidden behind a 30-minute phone intake call? Were the pools actually heated or freezing? And what does "camper-centered programming" actually mean on a Tuesday afternoon during a humid heatwave?

We created The Camp Edit as the resource we desperately wished we had. We expanded this guide into a massive directory of 318 camp reviews covering every conceivable style of day camp—from lakeside water parks in Bedford to STEM maker labs in Scarsdale and teacher-led farm campuses in Weston.
